IndieFlix announced its plans to crowdfund an app that will serve users as well as filmmakers. The app will create an independent film community in the palm of your hand by curating hard-to-find independent movies for whatever the situation - waiting for a root canal, trying to entertain a toddler, movie night with the whole family. Not only will the audience be satisfied, the filmmaker will benefit as well by getting paid for every minute watched.
SEATTLE, Washington (July 17, 2014) -Today IndieFlix announced its plans to crowdfund an app that will serve users as well as filmmakers.
"Stories are in our DNA," says CEO and co-founder, Scilla Andreen. "Good movies aren't necessarily the ones that sell out at the box office, or feature big names from Hollywood. Good movies ignite conversations and change the way we think." This app will provide movies you would never think to search for while connecting people globally with a share functionality that will give a voice to the user that can be heard worldwide.
IndieFlix plans to raise $28,000 to build the iOS version of the app and will create the Android version with any funds exceeding the campaign. Indiegogo will host the 25-day campaign and some of the rewards for donating include a personalized channel on IndieFlix and an invitation to Sundance Film Festival.
