This wonderful, emotionally balanced film was criminally ignored during it's brief, extremely limited theatrical run. There's no excuse to miss it on Blu-ray though, as the leads are fantastic and the story is beyond compelling.

Martin Scorsese's love letter to the magic of cinema - wrapped in the thin guise of being a "family film" - has arrived in a 2-disc Blu-Ray/DVD combo from Paramount. Though a bit light in the supplement department the BD audio/video transfers are reference-quality.

He may not be prolific, but as a director each of Terrence Malick's films stand as uniquely rewarding sensory experiences, and this 1998 adaptation of James Jones' anti war novel is no exception. With Criterion's exceptional 1080p transfer and rewarding extras, this may very well be "the" release of 2010.

DVD Review TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY (BLU-RAY)

One of the great sci-fi/action movies of all-time gets yet another repackaging, this time with a nice looking BD transfer, a pair of audio mixes that will rock the foundation and a ton of extras from versions past.

The film is highly recommended, though here it's not necessarily a double-dip candidate. But if you've held off this long this is definitely the version to get.
