Werewolves. Shapeshifters. That is usually enough to get my interest, but the hook for this set complete series set (nine episodes) of a show dropped after just five episodes were broadcast is the inclusion of the unaired pilot, which shows a path the show could have taken and didn't. DVD Review TRUE BLOOD: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON

The second season of HBO's vampire series based on the Charlaine Harris novels ratchets up the supernatural nutty in a big way, as the sleepy town of Bon Temps, Louisiana undergoes a very dark awakening. The saving grace is that there are so many colorful characters that I didn't really care how ridiculously wacky this season became because I enjoyed their company.

An easy suggestion for fans of the first season, because it's more of the same. Plus more.
