DVD Review THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (BLU-RAY) ![]() One of Hitchcock's early thrillers and Peter Lorre's first English-language picture, this is sure to be another excellent effort by The Criterion Collection. DVD Review THE 39 STEPS (BLU-RAY) ![]() Alfred Hitchcock was already a successful director when he adapted John Buchan's mystery thriller The Thirty-Nine Step, but this picture is where we see many of the staples of his later career come to fruition and gel in a way that few directors before or since have managed to accomplish. Criterion does this seminal movie proud in a loaded special edition that features a lovely and clean high-definition transfer of very difficult source material. Read More... DVD Review THE LADY VANISHES ![]() One of Hitchcock's purest entertainments, The Lady Vanishes is as funny and suspenseful a picture as you could ask for. DVD Review WHAT'S UP, TIGER LILY? ![]() Woody Allen's comedic redubbing of a couple of Japanese crime films is still full of laughs, but what's really funny is how similar this "new" DVD is to the one released in 2003.
