History was recently made on March 12th when Red Hour and Funny or Die partnered with Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel (MTV's Human Giant) to welcome 140 Twitterers from the worlds of comedy, acting, music, and entertainment to participate in the world's first-ever live tweet stream. All sale proceeds will benefit Artists for Peace and Justice's initiative to build schools in Haiti.
Performers were invited to each present one of their signature tweets in front of a live audience at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles. The line-up of performers included Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, The Hangover star Ed Helms; Rainn Wilson, Mindy Kaling, Samantha Ronson, Diablo Cody, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Lake Bell, John Cho, Nia Vardalos, Dave Foley, Busy Phillips, Al Yankovic, Wilmer Valderrama, Jenny McCarthy; comedians Michael Ian Black, Dane Cook and Aziz Ansari; Lost creators Damon Lindelof and Cartlon Cuse and too many more performers and comedians to list.
Tweets were comedy-heavy as performers shared their favorite tweets, twitpics and twitvids to a packed house.
Stiller read his all-time favorite tweet, "On a remote island vacationing, really enjoying dropping off the grid, totally disconnecting from the world."
AMC's Mad Men star, Rich Sommer, stood and delivered his tweet completely in the buff as his tweet recounted his 'bad dream' in which he was speaking before a crowd in his birthday suit.
"I changed a baby's diaper today and she had a totally shaved vagina," said Sarah Silverman. "What a country!"
Diablo Cody wore a fake baby bump and reluctantly admitted "@justinbieber, you're the father."
A Night of 140 Tweets will cost $2.99 on iTunes to download.
A DVD with exclusive content is available on Amazon.com for $14.95. The "A Night of 140 Tweets" DVD will be available through CreateSpace DVD on Demand, a solution which manufacturers DVDs only in response to customer demand, which can result in minimal risk
