"Extremely enjoyable!" -- Films and Filming
New York, NY - September 7, 2012 - Kino Lorber is proud to announce the Blu-ray release, on its Jezebel label, of Val Guest's Au Pair Girls, a '70s British sex comedy about four girls who come to London to work in au pair jobs and immerse themselves in the wild lifestyles of swinging London.
Au Pair Girls comes to Blu-ray on September 25th, mastered in HD from the 35mm negative. The SRP is $19.95, and it is currently available for prebook.
Eager to capitalize on the Euro sex film trend, but not quite ready to delve into pure pornography, British filmmakers of the early 1970s crafted their own genre of tongue-in-cheek sex spoofs.
Helmed by veteran director Val Guest (The Quatermass Xperiment, Expresso Bongo), Au Pair Girls represents slap-and-tickle cinema at its finest, as it follows the sexual misadventures of a group of young women who have come to England to broaden their cultural horizons.
The Overseas Employment agency in London places four foreign mini-skirted cuties in au pair jobs around the city. They are hired to do housework, but end up working overtime for their lucky employers, spending their off-hours in go-go clubs realizing their fantasies of life in swinging London. All four homes are turned upside-down by these super-cool sexually liberated women, and neither they, nor the country, will ever be the same again.

Redemption's "naughty sister," Jezebel is a label dedicated to reviving classic British sex comedies and erotic dramas from the 1960s and '70s. Several titles are drawn from the BFI's Flipside collection of restored cult films in HD. Encompassing playful comedies and gritty dramas, in genres ranging from documentary to science fiction. Made for the arthouse or the grindhouse, Jezebel gives these neglected films deluxe treatment, with new HD masters, struck from original negatives and other 35mm archival elements.
