Adapted from the beloved French film and novel by Marcel Pagnol, the movie tells the sweeping saga of single father and well digger Pascal Amoretti (Daniel Auteuil, Cache), who is raising a small army of young girls in the Provencal countryside. But when his poor teenage daughter Patricia (the luminous Astrid Berges-Frisbey) falls in love with the rich and dashing air force pilot Jacques (Nicolas Duvauchelle) and begins an illicit affair, she puts the family's reputation at risk.

New York, NY - December 14, 2012 - Kino Lorber is proud to announce the Blu-ray and DVD release of The Well Digger's Daughter, a film by Daniel Auteuil and based on the work by Marcel Pagnol. This acclaimed film, which Kino Lorber released theatrically earlier in 2012, "is the kind of film they don't make anymore, only here it is." (Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times).

Now, The Well Digger's Daughter comes to Blu-ray and DVD on December 24th, with a SRP of $34.95 for the Blu-ray and $29.95 for the DVD. It is presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround, and includes a stills gallery as a bonus feature.

The film will also be available on iTunes, Vudu HD Movies, and Amazon Instant Video on December 18th.
