"Yippee-Ki-Yay, mother cluckers" - Blake (Blake Anderson)
It's an outrageous stoner-slacker-office comedy from Comedy Central that explodes in outrageous situations and bits that are as off-the-wall as could ever be hoped for or expected. It's good just to laugh. It doesn't have to mean anything. There is explicit content and it is recommended for mature audiences... yeah right.

YouTube has produced a few stars over the last few years. The gang at Workaholics were seen by Comedy Central executives as a group called Mail Order Comedy in an online series called "5thyear." Given a chance by the network, the group pitched a series that follows three slacker friends fresh out of college who live in Rancho Cucamonga, California and work together at TelAmeriCorp, a telemarketing company. The crew spends their days and nights scheming together to avoid doing any real work and breaking every known convention of human civilization in search of what can be termed as the metaphorical "tight butthole" (i.e., something good).
The slacker comedy is vaguely reminiscent of the legendary Mike Judge comedy, Office Space, although it takes just about everything a whole lot farther and a lot more stone humor mixed in. This is a show that is alternately hilarious and disgustingly shock, which is also hilarious. The three leads carry most of the humor although there are some outstanding bits turned in by the secondary characters and guest stars. Anders Holm portrays Anders Holmvik, who thinks he a white rapper and is the most concerned about the future of his career at TelAmericorp. He is constantly sucking up to his boss Alice, but also is perfectly willing to go along with anything his two roommates come up with... eventually. He is hoping to avoid a police record so that he can still make it as a City Council member in Rancho Cucamonga. Blake Anderson is Blake Henderson, aka Uncle Blazer and is immediately identifiable by his long red curly hair. He has many interests and often his obsessions are the driving force behind the outrageous antics the guys find themselves in. Adam Devine is Adam DeMamp who think a lot of himself and often he goes too far and then can't back up his play, to the amusement of his roommates.
Maribeth Monroe portrays the boss lady of TelAmericorp, Alice Murphy who has some really great moments as the head of an infinitely hopeless work environment. Jillian Bell, who was a writer on Saturday Night Live in 2010, is Jillian Belk, who is the main cohort of the guys in the office in her role as Alice's assistant. Producer and Director Kyle Newacheck is a driving force of the show besides taking on the role of Karl Hevacheck, the drug dealer who keep the guys supplied in the weed they crave.
Guest stars include Chris Parnell of Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock as the CEO of TelAmericorp, Clint and Rance Howard as scabs during the Half-Christmas strike, Chris D'Elia is Topher the child molester, Nicky Whelan is the tempting temp and Ray Wise is the dude taken with Anders' potential as a model.
Some scenes are just crazy and use parody, satire and broad physical comedy to achieve laughs. In one episode, Anders and Adam are at the swimming pool of Adam's new rich lady friend. To teach Adam a lesson, Anders decides to seduce his lady with his swimming charms. This causes a fight between the two guys which they can't go through with because they keep getting boners. In the episode where the guys are worried about getting drug tested because of the weed they smoke, Blake is force to go up into the ceiling and break into room that contains the sample in humorous take off on Die Hard. He then pisses on all the samples to confuse the results, which I don't think happened in Die Hard. The nice thing about this show is that it contains many laugh-out-loud moments and in this era of over-rated comedy, that is something to be said. Don't believe that crap about how you have to be a 20-something slacker to enjoy or get this show. It's not true. We all were wild and crazy once, perhaps not as as wild or as crazy as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Roommates, but as least something.
This Blu-ray set includes Season Behind the Scenes - Countdown to V-Town: Lead-up to the Series Premiere, Inside the Writer's Room for Season Two, Cast Interviews, Bloopers, Deleted Scenes & Alternate Takes, Live at Bonnaroo, Drunkmentary on All Episodes.
The Blu-ray quality is straightforward HD-to-television transfer and the soundtrack is sufficient for the task. Nothing special but nothing to bring anything down either. Reasonably tight butthole.
Note: Even though the Blu-ray set is nicknamed "COMBO DOGGY" this does not mean is a combo-pack compatible with DVD players. The "combo" refers to combining season one and season two in one set. Each season has ten episodes.
