I've always been aware of the Manson Family murders, but I've never had a direct knowledge of the minute details behind them. I have a feeling, despite some assumedly awful acting during the dramatization portions of this film, I'll know a lot more once it's finished.

Series writers might be stretching sometimes to fill an hour on a topic occasionally, but pound-for-pound this is easily my favorite History Channel series. Mock it if you want, but this show always makes me think about the big picture just a little bit differently.

The History Channel does these sort of productions very well, and this one is no exception. This four+ hour crash course on the war in Vietnam tells a number personal stories and includes some stunning archival footage, presented in high-definition.

It's hard to believe that a ton of information about a huge era in U.S. History can be crammed into a 46-minute documentary, but I have a feeling that this disc is all about the spectacle of 3D technology.

Subject matter like this - ancient aliens visiting Earth in the past - is pretty much designed to preach to the tinfoil hat choir (I can say that because I'm one of them), and if you are already in that group -"hello, my name is Rich" - I have no doubt you will find this series quite interesting, even if the transfers are only fair-to-middling.

Just like with the classic Buffy The Vampire Slayer musical episode, I can't get these songs out of my head. It's funny, nerdy and even a little bittersweet, with a spot-on performance from Neil Patrick Harris as the titular bad guy trying to get the girl and change the world.

The content for this re-release carries the same content as the indie on-demand December 2008 version, with the only major difference being an ever so slight variation in the cover art and the fact that it is has been professionally authored and is not on a DVD+R.

Highly recommended.
