![]() This second installment of the adventures of everyone's favorite surgically separated conjoined twins takes the weirdness level up a few notches, to say the least. Read More... ![]() The further adventures of Duane and his malformed, formerly conjoined twin brother Belial stick in my memory as a case of director Frank Henenlotter going to the well one too many times. That opinion could change, given that it's been at least 15 years since I've seen this second sequel, but I have a bad feeling it won't. Read More... THE LIFE AND DEATH OF A PORNO GANG (BLU-RAY) ![]() Not for the faint of heart or those easily offended by graphic sex and violence. For everyone else: do I have a movie for you.
Read More... TWINS OF EVIL (BLU-RAY/DVD COMBO) ![]() Any horror fan worth their salt should go a little nutty for a Hammer film with Peter Cushing and twin Playboy centerfolds in the lead roles. This may not be the celebrated Hammer's finest work, but Cushing chews it up beautifully, the Collinson girls are eye-pealing and the new Synapse 1080p transfer is quite nice. Read More... RED SCORPION (BLU-RAY/DVD COMBO) ![]() Fans of late-1980s action flicks should be quite pleased with Synapse Films impressive restoration and overall treatment of Dolph Lundgren's Red Scorpion, available in a new Blu-Ray/DVD Combo pack carrying an uncensored version that can be had for less than fifteen bucks.
Read More... 42ND STREET FOREVER THE BLU-RAY EDITION ![]() If the thought of nearly four hours of B-movie trailers from the late 1960s/early 1970s - blaxploitation, sexploitation, martial arts, horror, sci-fi, vengeance, etc - gets you as giddy as it does me then the 42nd Street Forever: The Blu-Ray Edition from Synapse is necessary viewing.
Read More... THOU SHALT NOT KILL...EXCEPT (BLU-RAY) ![]() I tried to watch this movie 10 years or so ago and simply couldn't get through it. Now, with Synapse responsible for this new Blu-ray treatment I'm more than willing to give the film another shot. Read More... ![]() Synapse scores another winner with this beautiful 1080p treatment of Frank Henenlotter's twistedly comic reimagining mashup of Frankenstein and The Brain That Wouldn't Die.
Read More... THE EXTERMINATOR (BLU-RAY/DVD COMBO) ![]() One of the great unheralded revenge films of the late 19770s/early 1980s gets the 1080p treatment from Synapse, and the result truly kicks as much ass as The Exterminator himself. If not more.
Read More... THE DORM THAT DRIPPED BLOOD (BLU-RAY + DVD COMBO PACK) ![]() One of the unsung slasher classics of the early 1980s gets the fancypants treatment from Synapse in all of its uncensored director's cut glory. For fans of the dead teenager genre, this is an opportunity to finally see this film as it was meant to be seen.
Read More... ![]() Coffin Joe returns over 40 years since he last appeared on screen. Having this little-seen, low budget shocker on Blu-ray is a nice surprise courtesy of the always great Synapse Films. Read More... ![]() Synapse's first foray into BD is a genre-fan-favorite with this 2-disc Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack of Hammer Studios Vampire Circus (1972).An impressive transfer doesn't save the wonky bits from being any less nonsensical or incomplete, but the presentation and extras make this a necessary addition to any Hammerhead's collection.
Read More... ![]() It's easy to dismiss a sequel as being more of the same, and this one certainly is that. It's also surprisingly well-made and entertaining. Read More... ![]() Lopsided indie horror flick has its moments, but read on to see whether or not you should bother. Read More... ![]() What's a header? You're going to have to delve into the absolutely nasty delights of this Ed Lee adaptation to find out. Of course, you could do one better and just read the book ... Read More... ![]() Revisiting films like Patrick makes me yearn for the days of 70s horror. They just built ëem differently back then. True, this wonít win any awards for being the most rollicking genre film ever made, but if you like dollops of atmosphere with your horror, than this is as good a thriller as any. Director Richard Franklin takes what probably looked like a Carrie rip-off on paper and creates a quietly riveting ñ and spooky - slow burn. The kind of horror film that sneaks up on you and, if youíll indulge me for one quick second, that they just donít make anymore. Read More... Upcoming DVD Reviews
