Arnie is a helicopter pilot with a bad attitude. He's more interested in the afternoon football game than the heart transplant and Lifeflight duty he's about to fly. But all that changes when Arnie's helicopter malfunctions and crashes to the ground. As the lone survivor, Arnie is thrust into the unlikely role of hero when he finds the heart at the edge of the crash site and realizes he has but a few short hours to deliver it.

His journey back to civilization is interrupted by a number of surprises, particularly when...

... the heart begins to talk to him.

Featuring the voice of Emmy Award winner Timothy Busfield, Heartbeat is about the search for meaning, the tug-of-war between cynicism and optimism, and the need for "heart" in the modern world.
