Love it or hate it, the show is increasing in popularity. There is a big risk to its continuance with the significant cast changes in store for the next season. The DVD provides the nice "soap-opera-on-disc" continuity that allows the viewer to blend the episodes together and find new levels of continuity that are not available in the weekly, commercial interrupted versions.

DVD Grade: B+

One Tree Hill successfully emulates the popular 90's teenage show Dawson's Creek appealing to the teenage audience, and young adults. The plots dealt with issues that teenagers often face such as: sex, drugs, marriage, adoption, affairs, conflicts and more. As the show continued to stay on the air, the cast and plotlines both matured. The setting is the small but lively town of Tree Hill in North Carolina and originally follows the lives of two half-brothers, Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty). With a background of basketball drama and romance, their relationship began as enemies and ended up as caring brothers High school is the focus of the early seasons and the fifth moved further to the future. The ensemble cast also features Hilarie Burton as Peyton Sawyer and Bethany Joy Galeotti as Haley James Scott. Sophia Bush plays fashion designer Brooke Davis. One of the hallmarks of One Tree Hill is the use of song titles from music of various genres as the titles of the episodes.

Guest stars for Season Seven include Daphne Zuniga as Victoria Davis, Torrey DeVitto as Carrie, and Robbie Jones as Quentin Fields. Joe Manganiello plays Owen Morello, singer Kate Voegele reprises her role of Mia Catalano and Stephen Coletti returns as Chase Adams. Austin Nichols and Michaela McManus both make appearances in the season.
