ABOUT J/P HRO Our mission at J/P HRO is simple: to save lives and bring relief to the Haitian people quickly and effectively.

Founded by actor and humanitarian Sean Penn, J/P HRO began its work just hours after the earthquake hit. Less than a week after the disaster, J/P HRO was on the ground in Haiti, bringing much needed medical supplies and a team of doctors. Our team immediately went to work, treating patients, delivering medical supplies and equipment, and providing food to numerous camps and orphanages.

In the months since the earthquake, we have built a strong network of doctors and emergency management volunteers who have made tremendous progress on the ground. This team includes many Haitian employees, including translators, security, drivers, doctors, and nurses.

Currently, J/P HRO is focused on managing Petionville Camp, home to more than 55,000 people. Our efforts include providing medical care, security, education and rubble removal and reconstruction so people can move back into their communities.
