CRITICAL ACCLAIM FOR "QUEEN TO PLAY" "CAPTIVATING! Caroline Bottaro's tangy comic bonbon...is a lighthearted, grown-up fairy tale." —Stephen Holden, The New York Times (Critics' Pick) "INTELLIGENT, HEARTFELT AND DEEPLY SATISFYING! Though Kline handles his role expertly, Queen to Play succeeds as well as it does because of Bonnaire.... Her face is the film's go-to image, and we never tire of it." —Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times "SLY FUN!" —Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times "UNUSUALLY COMPLEX AND FASCINATING. Kline is the perfect partner for Bonnaire...their scenes are little treasures." —Stanley Kaufman, The New Republic "SANDRINE BONNAIRE SHINES!" —New York Magazine (Critics' Pick) "A FEMINIST TALE that's part Pygmalion and part '70s women's film.... The film rests on the delicate shoulders of Bonnaire, who carries it with a soulful, magnetic presence." —Ernest Hardy, L.A. Weekly "KLINE...IS AS SLY AND LEONINE AS EVER." —Daily News (New York) "THE FOREPLAY-EST BOUT OF CHESS SINCE THE ORIGINAL THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR." —Matt Prigge, Philadelphia Weekly "WELL-ACTED AND EFFORTLESSLY CHARMING! Queen To Play is ultimately about people's capacity for emotional and intellectual growth at any age." —Lou Lumenick, New York Post "THIS CEREBRAL CHICK FLICK could tickle arthouse fancies. Like Sebastian Silva's The Maid, Queen posits a radically different approach to class and gender empowerment." —Ronnie Scheib, Variety "BONNAIRE DELIVERS a beautifully modulated turn! Kline, in his first entirely French-speaking role, intriguingly underplays as the mysterious Kroger." —Frank Scheck, The Hollywood Reporter "IMMENSELY APPEALING. A singular and bountiful French film about one woman's passion and the ways it transforms her life and the lives of those around her." —Fredric and Mary Ann Brussat, Spirituality and Practice "SUBTLE AND SOPHISTICATED. Will captivate even those who, like me, know nothing about chess.... Kline is the perfect partner for the luminous Sandrine Bonnaire." —Vivian Thomas, France Today "QUIET BUT AFFECTING, a film that uses a well-worn metaphor to find new and profound feelings. It's the kind of film you'll need to seek out—but which rewards that effort." —Marshall Fine, Huffington Post "KEVIN KLINE'S TALENT OFTEN MAKES ACTING LOOK EASY, and this time, just to show off, he does it in French." —Corey Hall, Metro Times (Detroit)
