New York, NY - May 16, 2012 - Kino Lorber is proud to announce the DVD release of Zero Bridge (2008), a film by director Tariq Tapa, and the producers of Maria Full of Grace and Half Nelson. Focusing on a student and petty criminal whose affection for an older, more sophisticated woman eventually causes chaos for both of them, the film was hailed by Mike Hale in The New York Times as "a moving slice of life". Ella Taylor in the Village Voice praised director Tariq Tapa as "a filmmaker of enormous promise and precocious maturity."

Now, this acclaimed independent film comes to DVD from Kino Lorber, on June 12th. It comes with a SRP of $29.95, and is currently available for prebook. This DVD edition includes the following special features: a radio interview with director Tariq Tapa on the Leonard Lopate show; audio from the opening night Q&A at Film Forum; a director's statement; and theatrical trailer.

Zero Bridge will also be available via CableVOD (check local listings) and VOD via iTunes, Netflix, Amazon.com, and other services.

The film, which was a Critics' Pick in LA Weekly, screened at festivals including the Venice Film Festival (where it was nominated for two awards including Leone del Futuro Prize and Orrizonti Prize) and the Barcelona Independent Film Festival (where it was nominated for Grand Prize). It won the Audience Award at the Mumbai International Film Festival, won Best Film at the Leeds International Film Festival, and won Best Film at the Hidden Gems Film Festival.

Zero Bridge tells the story of a student and small-time criminal in Kashmir who develops a crush on an older, college educated woman.

Dilawar (Mohamad Imran Tapa) is a rebellious seventeen-year-old Kashmiri boy who lives on the outskirts of Srinagar city with his strict uncle. Desperate to leave town, he looks to raise money any way he can, from doing his classmates' homework to picking pockets in the city's markets.

While on an errand, he meets Bani (Taniya Khan), a bright, beautiful woman who had recently finished her studies in America. As their friendship grows, Dilawar is desperate to hide his crimes, as well as his growing affection for her. Once the truth comes out, it causes havoc in their relationship, and threatens both of their futures.
