The film is written by Ryan Levin (TV's "Scrubs," Disney Channel's "I'm With the Band") and directed by Jack Perez (La Cucaracha, Wild Things 2, Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus). Critics have plenty of praise for Some Guy Who Kills People's off-beat charm, with Bloody Disgusting calling it "funny, bloody, really sweet... a welcome breath of fresh air" and Sound on Sight noting, "About halfway through Some Guy Who Kills People, I'd laughed my throat raw."
